Today, February 12, theXI International sports and athletic contest "Officer Starts" commenced at the National Defence University of Ukraine. The participants are teams of the General Staff, the Armed Forces of Ukraine services, the Ukrainian security service teams and the representatives of foreign countries. Deputy commander of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, lieutenant-general Rodion Tymoshenko, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Ministry of Defenсe of Ukraine Yuri Finohenov, Director of the Research Institute of the Armed Forces of Ukraine lieutenant-general Ihor Romanchenko, Advisor to the President of the Ukrainian Football Association Valentyn Latypov, prorector of the National security service academy colonel Victor Makarenko greeted the paticipants on the start of the competition.

Representatives of the United Kingdom Defense Academy have paid a working visit to the University as part of international military cooperation activities.

From 27 January to 22 February the NATO Delegation to Ukraine is conducting a training and qualification course on the training of military management bodies personnel Armed Forces Logistics Of Ukraine with the participation of representatives of the Military Technical Academy of the Republic of Poland and advisers on logistics and standardization of the NATO Liaison Office.

On January 17, a delegation of the NATO Response Force, led by Major General John Mead, Joint Chief of Staff, visited the University. The purpose of the visit was to discuss new possible areas of cooperation and to analyze the results of the work undertaken.

The course aims to study in detail the main aspects of the pre-deployment training and conduct of international peacekeeping operations under the auspices UN and NATO, get acquainted with NATO terminology on operational planning process.
