The The 5th Multinational Annual Conference on Improving Sergeant Training in Ukraine under the NATO DEEP (Defence Education Enhancement Program) is taking place at the University.

Today, November 9, at the National University of Defence of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovskyi, a multinational working meeting of the expert group on professionalization of sergeants corps within the NATO Defence Education Enhancement Program (DEEP) has commenced. This is the first time the event was held in Ukraine.

November 1, 2021, a large-scale campaign "Digital Literacy Month" began in Ukraine, which will last until November 30, 2021. This initiative is implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine project "Action. Digital Education" - a national platform for digital literacy. Within the framework of this project it is proposed to view the course "Stop corruption for servicemen" - https://osvita.diia.gov.ua/courses/stop-corruption - a joint development of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine with the Building integrity training and educational centre of National Defense University of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovsky, Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with the support of the British Government.

The leading specialists of the Department of National Security and Defence Strategy of the Institute of State Military Administration of the University held the course of the professional development on the issues of military security and defence in a "hybrid" war in order to increase the professional competence of the National Security and Defense Council Office public servants, as well as the awareness on the current trends in operations in the context of the ongoing aggression of the Russian Federation (using "hybrid" warfare). The course was held in the period of October 20 to November 3, 2021.

According to the university curriculum from 27 to 29 October, 2021, in the military units of the air command “Centr” of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and in the training and certification center of Ukraerorukh, practical classes were held with the students of state military management and aviation and air defence institutes, as well as senior management courses of strategic level L-4 and joint staff officer courses of operational level L-3.

On 25-29th of October, the course "The organization and implementation of public procurement" was held in the Defence Management Research and Education Center of the University with the participation of the Defense Procurement Reform Project supported by the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom. The course was attended by authorized persons and specialists of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Ukraine who are responsible for the organization and conducting of procurement procedures.

The European Union’s ‘Common Security and Defence Policy’ (CSDP) missions and operations with particular focus on the EU Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine was the topic of the a presentation delivered by the Deputy Head of EUAM, Fredrik Wesslau, during the CSDP Orientation Course held in Kyiv this week.

According to the Action Plan for International Cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a delegation of representatives of the Kingdom of the Netherlands headed by Lieutenant Colonel Eric van Vuren, Attaché for Defense of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, visited the National Defense University.

Within the framework of the implementation of the gender policy of Ukraine, 28 January 2021 in the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi was provided a workshop «Basics of gender policy. Practical experience in implementing the principle of gender equality in the policies of NATO member states and policy of Ukraine» for students of the operational level. The event was moderated by Ludmila Krymets – Gender adviser to the Head of the University and Frank Jeppsen – NATO Military Adviser at the University. The training was conducted in English.

During the visit of Norwegian Defence University College representatives, the meeting of the head of research project “Ukraine and Total Defence” Tom Roseth with the team of researchers from the National Defenсe University of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovskyi, led by the head of the Center for Military and Strategic Studies colonel Anatolii Pavlikovskyi took place.
