Today, October 25, the representatives of the Norwegian University College of Defence began a visit to the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovskyi. The delegation, led by Major General Henning-A. Frantzen, Commandant of Norwegian Defence University College is accompanied by Commander Senior Grade Bjørn Ole Grodås, Defence Attaché of the Kingdom of Norway in Ukraine.

On October the 25th the Norwegian Defence University College delegation,led bythe Commandant, Major General Henning, accompanied by Commander Senior Grade Bjørn Ole Grodås, Defence Attaché of the Kingdom of Norway in Ukraine, took part in the daily morning ceremony in the Hall of Memory of the Defenders honoring the Ukrainian defenders who died for the freedom, independence and territorial integrity of our country as well as during the international operations to maintain peace and security throughout the world. Foreign guests laid flowers at the memorial stele and observed a minute of silence in honor of the fallen Ukrainian heroes.

Since 2014, the European Union, Austria and Ukraine has conducted a ‘European week’ at the National Defence University of Ukraine with three events within one week, namely a CSDP conference, a CSDP orientation course and a CSDP alumni seminar. This year CSDP Orientation Course is held in Kiev from 25 to 29 October. After two years it is held in presence and gathered many participants coming from several EU and partner countries.

The Aviation and Air Defence Institute held an international scientific and practical conference on the discussion of the possibility of gaining an advantage in the air, countering air threats, the use and logistics of aviation and air defence in operations.

From October 18 to October 23, 2021 the first module of Advanced Training Course on the Organization and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages for English Teachers of Higher Educational Institutions – Professional Development Course for English Language Teachers (hereinafter – PDCELT) is held at the National Defenсe University of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as the PDCELT). Due to the epidemiological situation in the country, the 1st module is online.

On October 1st, 2021, the National Defence University of Ukraine hosted the 2nd International Scientific Practical Conference ‘Strategic Communications in National Security and Defence: Problems, Experience, and Prospects’. The event was organized by the Education and Scientific Strategic Communications Centre of the National Defence University of Ukraine.

On September 30, 2021 a two-day training Seminar for faculty members of foreign language departments of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ higher military educational institutions (HMEIs) on organizing and conducting a short-term training for the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) personnel, assigned as part-time language training instructors, completed at the Foreign Languages Department in the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi (NDU).

A military delegation from the Kingdom of Denmark paid a working visit to the University as a part of international military cooperation activities. The delegation included a military adviser, Lt. Col. Jens Jacobsen, and a senior military adviser at the National Defence University of Ukraine, Mr. Frank Eppesen.

A few days ago, a practical seminar was held with representatives of structural subdivisions of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military governing bodies, institutes and centers of the university to review examples of capability costing based on the experience of the United States and NATO countries.

The first 12 military members and 1 employee of the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully passed the final test and completed the training course for language training instructors, which was held from 6 to 10 September at the Department of Foreign Languages of Training and Research Centre of Foreign Languages of Ivan Cherniakhovskyi National Defence University of Ukraine. This is a new training course, which was introduced in accordance with the requirements of the "Roadmap for improving language training in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (2021 - 2025)" in order to teach the basics of methods of teaching English to future language training instructors who will start teaching English in their units from January 2022.
