On September 6, the first group of students started their week-long training course on organization and methodology of foreign language instruction in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, hosted by Foreign Languages Education and Research Centre of the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi.

The representatives of the University took part in the international annual iFEST 2021 online conference from 31st of August to 2d of September. iFEST brought together senior officials and innovators from the military, government, industry, and academia for this three-day online conference to discuss new solutions for the new normal.

Recently, within the bilateral cooperation framework between the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi and the Croatian Military Academy, the representatives from the University led by the University commandant lieutenant-general Anatolii Syrotenko participated in the international conference on the topic: “Improvement of study programs for the needs of the Croatian Armed Forces”, held in Mali Lošinj, Croatia.

In accordance with the curriculum, the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Institute of Aviation and Air Defense conducted practical training with students of the institute to study the work of the commander and management of the tactical aviation brigade to organize the preparation of units for combat missions and to manage the brigade during the implementation of the assigned tasks.

PDCELT, the Professional Development Course for English language teachers (NDUU PDCELT) was successfully finished at the National Defence University of Ukraine on June 18, 2021. The purpose of the course is to update and enlarge the professional competencies of English language teachers of higher military educational institutions and military training units of higher educational institutions of Ukraine in the fields of organization of language training and foreign languages teaching methodology.

On June 2, 2021 the senior lecturer of the information technologies application and information security department of the National University of Defence of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovskyi, an employee of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yurii Tsurko conducted an online lecture for students of the Swedish Defence University (SEDU) on the topic "Russia's use of operations of influence and possible ways to counter." This session was a part of an ongoing course on regional security aspects and the impact of the Russian Federation in the framework of a joint operations education program for senior officers in the Swedish Armed Forces.

From 19 to 20 May 2021, the “Maritime Strategy of the state. Development and Implementation of Maritime Potential of Ukraine” annual international scientific forum was conducted at the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi in a blended format: face-to-face and online.

On 10-14 May 2021, the representatives from the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi participated into the international online conference held under the auspices of the Bureau for International Language Co-Ordination (BILC). The conference focused on topical issues of foreign language training and language testing in accordance with the NATO STANAG 6001 requirements, including the use of innovative digital tools for language training. The experts exchanged the experience on implementing blended and distance learning technologies and the adaptive methods of language testing that served as a solution in the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

From April 27 to May 5, 2021, within the framework of the “Modern Information Environment” module, the military students of L-3 Joint Operations Staff Officers Training Course of the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi mastered the basic principles of civil-military coordination in NATO and in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
