A few days ago, a practical seminar was held with representatives of structural subdivisions of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military governing bodies, institutes and centers of the university to review examples of capability costing based on the experience of the United States and NATO countries.

The first 12 military members and 1 employee of the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully passed the final test and completed the training course for language training instructors, which was held from 6 to 10 September at the Department of Foreign Languages of Training and Research Centre of Foreign Languages of Ivan Cherniakhovskyi National Defence University of Ukraine. This is a new training course, which was introduced in accordance with the requirements of the "Roadmap for improving language training in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (2021 - 2025)" in order to teach the basics of methods of teaching English to future language training instructors who will start teaching English in their units from January 2022.

On September 6, the first group of students started their week-long training course on organization and methodology of foreign language instruction in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, hosted by Foreign Languages Education and Research Centre of the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi.

The representatives of the University took part in the international annual iFEST 2021 online conference from 31st of August to 2d of September. iFEST brought together senior officials and innovators from the military, government, industry, and academia for this three-day online conference to discuss new solutions for the new normal.

Recently, within the bilateral cooperation framework between the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi and the Croatian Military Academy, the representatives from the University led by the University commandant lieutenant-general Anatolii Syrotenko participated in the international conference on the topic: “Improvement of study programs for the needs of the Croatian Armed Forces”, held in Mali Lošinj, Croatia.

In accordance with the curriculum, the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Institute of Aviation and Air Defense conducted practical training with students of the institute to study the work of the commander and management of the tactical aviation brigade to organize the preparation of units for combat missions and to manage the brigade during the implementation of the assigned tasks.

PDCELT, the Professional Development Course for English language teachers (NDUU PDCELT) was successfully finished at the National Defence University of Ukraine on June 18, 2021. The purpose of the course is to update and enlarge the professional competencies of English language teachers of higher military educational institutions and military training units of higher educational institutions of Ukraine in the fields of organization of language training and foreign languages teaching methodology.

On June 2, 2021 the senior lecturer of the information technologies application and information security department of the National University of Defence of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovskyi, an employee of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yurii Tsurko conducted an online lecture for students of the Swedish Defence University (SEDU) on the topic "Russia's use of operations of influence and possible ways to counter." This session was a part of an ongoing course on regional security aspects and the impact of the Russian Federation in the framework of a joint operations education program for senior officers in the Swedish Armed Forces.

From 17 to 21 May 2021, as part of the training module “Logistics Fundamentals”, officers of the L-3 Joint Operations Staff Officers Logistics course was conducted in English.

From 19 to 20 May 2021, the “Maritime Strategy of the state. Development and Implementation of Maritime Potential of Ukraine” annual international scientific forum was conducted at the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi in a blended format: face-to-face and online.
