On November 24, 2021, the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi hosted the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference "Challenges of ADL Implementation in the Educational Process of Higher Military Educational Institutions and Possible Ways of their Solution" with the support of the Ministry of Defense of Norway.

The purpose of the International Scientific and Practical Conference is to present the results of distance learning in educational institutions and discuss the development of a consolidated solution to improve the mechanism for implementing distance learning in the educational process of higher military educational institutions.

The Conference's Agenda included a plenary session and 2 working sections in the following areas: "Problems of ADL Implementation in the educational process of higher military educational institutions (military units of higher education institutions)", "Views and ways to improve the mechanism of ADL Implementation in the educational process of higher military educational institutions (military units of higher education institutions)".

Major General Serhii Salkutsan, Deputy Commandant in Academic Affairs of the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi, and Commander SG Bjørn Ole Grodås, Military Attaché of the Kingdom of Norway, addressed the Conference participants with congratulatory words and wishes of fruitful cooperation.

The following reports were presented during the plenary session:

"An Overview of the Total Learning Architecture" – Dr Sae Schatz, the USA ADL Initiative Director;

"Joint Advanced Distributed Learning Status Update" – Mr Paul Thurkettle, e-Learning Programme Manager - NATO ACT;

"The Learning Effect of a 100% Digital Course" – Commander SG Geir Isaksen, Director Faculty Admin & ADL - Norwegian Defence University College;

"NATO Best Practices for ADL in Exercises" – Dr Aaron Presnall, President - Jefferson Institute;

"Towards digital dexterity – NATO DEEP eAcademy best practices and experiences" – Dr Piotr Gawliczek, NATO DEEP eAcademy Director and the University Professor of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn;

"Ways of further development of the ADL system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine" – Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Tyshchenko, the Chief of Scientific ADL Center of NDUU.

In total, more than 230 participants from 10 countries joined the Conference.
