Online Meeting on the Development the Advanced Distributed Learning System of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Within the framework of the NATO DEEP (Defence Education Enhancement Program) from 28 to 30 July 2020, the representatives of National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi (hereinafter NDUU), Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy, armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the NATO DEEP Program participated in the online meeting on development the advanced distributed learning system of the armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Representatives of the NDUU informed about the stages have done on the way of the ADL system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine development and the main steps to focus on at the beginning of this process, its main tasks, target audience and structure. Also, the electronic library and the ADL platform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were demonstrated, acquainted with their structure and main areas of use in the educational process. The main goal was emphasized – to create the common ADL platform and electronic library of Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Also, the information on existing learning management systems and additional ADL resources that can be used in the education and training of military specialists was provided. The main emphasis was placed on the advantages of the MOODLE learning management systems which is used in Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The representative of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy shared his experience in implementing ADL technologies in Academy. It was focused on aspects related to ways of assisting faculty members and cadets in the use of ADL technologies and issues that arise while using the ADL platform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Colleagues from Bosnia and Herzegovina demonstrated their achievements in the use of ADL technologies in the education and training of military specialists. The existing ADL platform was demonstrated as well as the available training resources.

The proposals on further steps towards developing the ADL system of the armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina taking into account the experience of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were made at the end of the meeting.
