Representatives of the Humanitarian Institute joined the training on Psychological Health

According to the Plan of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine from June to July 2019 led by the Main Derictorate of Moral and Psychological support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from 23 to 25 of July 2019, a training course on behavioral health was conducted by a mobile training group of the US Armed Forces in Europe on the basis of Zhytomyr Military Institute named after Serhii Korolov.

The training was attended by representatives of the 254th Combat and Operational Stress Control (COSC) detachment (USA), the security and defense sector of Ukraine, higher military educational institutions of Ukraine and representatives of Humanitarian Institute of the National Defense University of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovsky.

According to the program of the course, classes on wrestling control, stress control, sleep hygiene, copying cards, goal setting, self-help, cognitive distortion, communication, triad of productivity, stress reduction due to attentiveness, progressive muscle relaxation etc, wwere conducted.

During the classes, a number of discussion issues were discussed according to the course subjects, as well as Ukrainian and American specialists exchanged practical experience in providing assistance for military men with PTSD. Thanks to joint efforts the ways of further study improvement of approaches to overcoming the problems associated with PTSD.
