The Minister of Defence of Ukraine and the leadership of the Armed Forces gave lectures at the University on the occasion of the Day of Knowledge

The Day of Knowledge is a holiday that traditionally begins the new school year.  It is special for the University as a leading higher educational institution of the education system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.  Therefore, traditionally, after the report of the Commandant of the University Lieutenant General Anatolii Syrotenko on the `readiness of the University to work in the 2020-2021 academic year, the educational process at the University of Defense of Ukraine began with introductory lectures by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Chief of General Staff and the representatives of the Commands of the Armed Forces.

According to Andrii Taran, the future of the Ukrainian army is currently being laid at the National Defence University of Ukraine, a new military elite is being educated, which is simply obliged to know English in order to be able to communicate with the colleagues of the NATO partner countries and further solve the most difficult tasks of the National defence in an unpredictable and changing security environment.  And the level of knowledge of a foreign language will be the main criterion in the career of a modern Ukrainian officer in the near future.

In conclusion, the top military leadership unanimously called on the scientific and pedagogical staff of the National Defence University of Ukraine to rethink the approaches to the content and methods of teaching, and students - to be proud that they had the opportunity to study at the country's leading military higher education institution.
