International Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Issues of Countering Threats from the Air” [translations pending]

The Aviation and Air Defence Institute held an international scientific and practical conference on the discussion of the possibility of gaining an advantage in the air, countering air threats, the use and logistics of aviation and air defence in operations.

A special feature of the seminar in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic is the event was held in a mixed form using the latest Internet technologies. It allowed to expand the circle of participants and to involve the representatives of about twenty educational and scientific organizations and institutions, as well as military authorities, both in Ukraine and abroad. In particular, the international event was attended by the representatives of the Air Command and Staff College (USA), Military Aviation University (Demblin, Republic of Poland), Armed Forces of the French Republic, Armed Forces of the Italian Republic, University of Defence of the Czech Republic (Brno), Embassy of Ukraine in the United States of America (Washington), Command and Staff Academy (Hamburg, Germany), the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other educational and scientific organizations and institutions.

During the conference, the participants discussed many promising areas of joint cooperation.

It was decided to continue research and scientific cooperation on the sphere of protection of Ukraine's airspace and on the prospects of the air defence system transformation, as well as the implementation of the international scientific-practical conference results in the educational process of the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovskyi.
