Today, November 9, at the National University of Defence of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovskyi, a multinational working meeting of the expert group on professionalization of sergeants corps within the NATO Defence Education Enhancement Program (DEEP) has commenced. This is the first time the event was held in Ukraine.

About 50 representatives of Allies and Partners are involved in the meeting. The NATO Foreign Expert Group at the event is led by Mariusz Solis, Head of the NATO DEEP Program for the Improvement of Military Education of the NATO International Staff.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, expressed gratitude from the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the Alliance specialists for the effective assistance in training of the sergeant corps representatives.

The event, supported by the Sergeants Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and attended by the representatives of the structural units of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who are responsible for the professional education and training of sergeants, as well as  services commands, separate branches of forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the institutions of professional higher military education and sergeant training centers.

The aspects of sergeants education will be discussed during the multinational meeting for the prospect of further development, taking into account the experience and best practices of the Alliance and the multilateral cooperation between the educational institutions under the supervision of the NATO Military Education Program DEEP.
