NDUU STUDENT OFFICERS DEFEND MASTER'S THESIS TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE EXPERIENCE OF NATO COUNTRIES

At the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi continues the process of certification of graduate officers.
This year, examination commission work of the Aviation and Air Defense Institute of the university was unique, due to the protection of the master's thesis by the student officers of the Aviation Department, Major Ruslan Sokolskyi. Back in August 2019, he was selected as a candidate to study at the Baltic Defence College (Tartu, Estonia) for the program of the Joint Command and General Staff Course.
While studying at the Baltic Defence College, he continued distance learning in #NDUU according to his main specialization study plan. Therefore, he was allowed to pass the combined exam and defend his master's thesis together with his classmates.
Currently, the experience of the Aviation Department related to the distance defend of the master's thesis by student officer, who studies abroad, is one of the first at the university.
Major Ruslan Sokolskyi wrote a master's thesis at a high scientific level, and it has theoretical and practical value. During the research, the student officer has demonstrated a solid knowledge of the basis of use of the airspace according to # NATO standards and gave recommendations, which were based on calculations provided in the paper.
Taking into account this positive experience, the Aviation and Air Defense Institute considers the possibility to continue the practice of defending a master’s thesis in the English language.
