Representatives of the humanitarian institute joined training on psychological health

According to the Plan of International Cooperation of Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine under

the leadership of the Main Department of Moral and Psychological provision of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the period from 23.04.-25.04.2019 on the base of National Military Medical Clinical Center "Main Military Clinical Hospital" (Kyiv) conducted a behavioral health course-training by a mobile training group of the USA Armed Forces in Europe.

The training was attended by representatives of the 254th detachment of Combat and Operational Stress Control (COSC) (USA), the security and defense sector of Ukraine, higher military educational institutions of Ukraine and in particular Humanitarian Institute of the National University of Defense of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovsky.

Significantly, the course began during the celebration of the All-Ukrainian Day of a Psychologist.

According to the program of the course, classes on diagnostics and evaluation of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and

traumatic brain injury; questions about moral injuries; the use of therapeutic drugs in case of PTSD. Requirements of Clinical practice for treatment of PTSD and an intensive outpatient program of PTSD attitude were proved.

During the classes, a number of discussion issues were discussed according to the course subjects, as well as Ukrainian and American specialists exchanged practical experience in providing assistance for military men with PTSD. Thanks to joint efforts it was determined the ways of further explore and approaches improvement of overcoming the problems associated with PTSD.
