The oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people was taken by graduates of the Reserve Officers Military Training Department

Today, August the 29-th, with the participation of the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Ivan Rusnak, a solemn event took place - graduates of the Department of Military Training took an oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people.  In the near future, 412 students from 42 higher education institutions will receive the primary officer rank – "the second lieutenant" because they pledged to defend the territorial integrity and independence of the country, to be a support and shield for their people.

At the beginning of the action, all those present joined the nationwide moment of silence in honour of the memory of the defenders of Ukraine who died in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.  Flowers were laid at the Defender of the Fatherland memorial stele at the University.  Each graduate has a sunflower on his chest, which has become a symbol of grief for the Ukrainian heroes who died in the Donbas.
