Today, September 24, the University hosted an online webinar using the Skype for Business system on the topic "Advice to military lawyers, commanders and officers of the Headquarters on compliance with international humanitarian law (IHL) during conflicts."

The purpose of the event was to improve practical skills of the commanders and officers who are in charge of the legal issues on how to apply the international humanitarian law during conflicts.

The International Committee of the Red Cross were represented by Pierre Apraksin, ICRC Legal Coordinator, Diogo Veloso, ICRC Delegate to the Armed Forces and Security, Ihor Lyma, Adviser to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Security Bodies of Ukraine, and ICRC legal advisor Vira Melnyk.

Representatives of the Legal Support Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Legal Support Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, students of the Command and Staff and Humanitarian Institutes of the National Defence University named after Ivan Chernyakhovskyi, as well as specialists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took part in the webinar.
