Representatives of the Aviation and Air Defense Institute took part in the V International Scientific Conference "Actual problems of unmanned aerial vehicles development"

The 5th APUAVD-2019 International Scientific Conference was held in Kyiv, by the Ukrainian Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, on October 22-24, 2019, at the National Aviation University.

The Conference was planned to be a forum of ideas exchange and results discussion in the field of methods, algorithms of computer-aided design of UAV (aerodynamics, flight-technical, characteristics, durability) data transmission channels equipment of UAV: navigation and motion control systems, adaptive robust and optimal control systems useful load software, air traffic control centre and maintenance of UAV.

The basic directions that need special attention in forming requirements for the development and production of UAV were considered, namely: improved methods of automated design of navigation systems and sensors for UAV; aerodynamic properties, flight characteristics, reliability, maintenance and repair, power installations of UAV; methods and complexes for testing navigation and flight control systems; UAV equipment (data channels, adaptive, reliable and optimal control systems, payload, ground control station, navigation and motion control systems, sensors, ground navigation equipment) and applied aspects of UAV.

Representatives of public authorities and non-governmental organizations, scientific institutions, higher education institutions, developers and manufacturers of UAV were invited to participate in the conference.

The conference also included reports and discussions in thematic sections, presented the best Ukrainian and world examples of successful implementation of the latest technologies in the development and production of UAV, major trends in navigation systems, in particular in the military field.

The University’s representatives actively participated in the conference. Scientific and pedagogical staff of the Institute of Aviation and Air Defense were headed by Chief of the Institute Colonel Vitalii Tiуrin.

According to the conference participants, such a joint international event is an important element in the implementation of advanced technologies in the development and production of UAV, taking into account the best practices of NATO and Partner countries.
