The event on the basis of the National Defence  University named after Ivan Chernyakhovskyi of Ukraine is part of the Ukraine-NATO Cooperation Plan for 2022. The launched course is the fourth stage in the research and teaching staff  pedagogical skills improvement for the successful implementation of measures to transform educational programs for the training of officers-leaders of strategic and operational levels (L-courses).

During the week, the classes for the representatives of the  National Defence University of Ukraine and the Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University will be conducted by the NATO-DEEP program expert, professor of the National Defence University of the USA Mary McCully and co-director of the Education Development Group of the Partnership for Peace Consortium, Head of the Department of Philology, Translation and Strategic Communications of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine Iryna Lysychkina.

The purpose of the course is to form self-sufficient and sustainable potential of higher military educational institutions for the development and implementation of quality educational programs based on modern methods of active learning, improving previously acquired and acquiring new competencies in educational field increasing pedagogical staff professional competence and applying new methodics of teaching disciplines, as well as increasing the ability of teachers to develop and conduct training based on best educational practices and democratic values for the development of critical thinking of students.

Upon the completion of the course program, the graduates must demonstrate the ability to apply and recommend to fellow teachers quality content and information resources for teaching, assessment, planning programs / courses / classes, curriculum development, online learning and ensure an internal education quality system in a higher military educational institution.
