On October 1st, 2021, the National Defence University of Ukraine hosted the 2nd International Scientific Practical Conference ‘Strategic Communications in National Security and Defence: Problems, Experience, and Prospects’. The event was organized by the Education and Scientific Strategic Communications Centre of the National Defence University of Ukraine.

This Conference brought together a lot of strategic communications subject matter experts (SMEs) from both Ukraine and NATO nations. Thus, the English panel was presented by speakers from NATO Information and Documentation CentreOffice of Defense Cooperation of the U.S. EmbassyJoint Special Operations UniversityUSSOCOM of the USANATO DEEP eAcademyEU Delegation to UkraineLAF Strategic Communication Department of the Lithuanian Armed Forces; Information and Analytical Portal Armiya.Az (Azerbaijan).

The Ukrainian speakers included the strategic communications SMEs from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and Armed Forces of Ukraine, National Guard of Ukraine, Security Service of Ukraine, State Border Service of Ukraine, and scientists from leading educational establishments and public organizations.

The conference participants stressed upon synchronization of efforts of strategic communications actors, such as SMEs, scientists, and practitioners, in fighting Russian hybrid warfare against Ukraine, especially in information sphere.

According to organizers, the international event is highly important element of training and advanced training of strategic communications service members and servants of security and defence sector of Ukraine based on the best world practice and experience of the NATO nations.
