An online course on Defence Resource Management has been accomplished at the University

In the period from March 22 to April 2, 2021, at the initiative of the Defence Attaché at the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine, a Defence Resource Management Course (DMRC) was conducted online at the University.

The representatives of the Central Department of Defence Resources of Ukraine, the General Directorate of Defence Planning and the Central Department of Communications and Information Systems of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the Directorate of Defence Policy of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and certainly the educators of Ivan Cherniakhovskyi National Defence University were involved in the training.

- Glad to congratulate everyone on the completion of the course! Unfortunately, due to anti-pandemic measures, our team was not able to be present in Kyiv. However, we are very grateful to the specialists of the National Defence University of Ukraine, translation team for organizing and conducting the course in a remote format. And I would like to thank all the participants for their high understanding of the topic and active participation in discussions. We hope that the experience we have provided will be useful to you in the further implementation of defense management functions, - said Yves Labelle, Course Manager, a representative of Department of National Defence of Canada, Directorate of Military Training and Cooperation.

During the course, Canadian experts have introduced the peculiarities of defence budgeting, defence investment planning, the basics of resource management cases to Ukrainian participants. Together they analyzed defence business cases and scenarios. Attention was also paid to human resource and infrastructure management. In addition, the course participants had the opportunity to consider the topic of configuration of forces and readiness as well as the alliances and interoperability.

The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to Directorate of Military Training and Cooperation of the National Defence Forces of Canada, the CALIAN team and the Office of the Defence Attaché of Canada in Ukraine for their comprehensive support of the training course and expressed hopes for further fruitful cooperation in the field of defence management.
