Teachers Advanced Training

From October 18 to October 23, 2021 the first module of Advanced Training Course on the Organization and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages for English Teachers of Higher Educational Institutions – Professional Development Course for English Language Teachers (hereinafter – PDCELT) is held at the National Defenсe University of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as the PDCELT). Due to the epidemiological situation in the country, the 1^st module is online.

Like the other courses and disciplines studied at the University, this course has an online version on the distance learning platform.

The staff of the Department of Foreign Languages adapted the ICELT course of the University of Cambridge, which in the past was conducted by certified trainers of the Department together with the British Council experts for more than 15 years. A new project was titled as PDCELT.

During that time, more than a hundred qualified FL teachers for the universities of the Security and Defence Sector of Ukraine were trained and certified at the Course.

The purpose of PDCELT is to deepen theoretical knowledge of pedagogy and methods of FLT, apply the latest methods and techniques of teaching English, taking into account the specifics of higher military educational institutions, share practical teaching experience.

PDCELT students represent seven higher military educational institutions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Zhytomyr and Kamianets Podilskyi.

The PDCELT course is crucial link in the system of standardization of language training in military universities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of in accordance with the requirements of the Agreement on Standardization of NATO Member States STANAG-6001 and the Roadmap for Improving Language Training in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (for 2021-2025).
