The professional development course on the organization and methodology of foreign language teaching is conducted to train academic staff of foreign language departments within the security and defenсe sector and to update and deepen their professional competencies in foreign language teaching methodology in line with best international practices. The course is based on the ICELT (In-Service Certificate in English Language Teaching) program by the University of Cambridge and is delivered by Cambridge-certified instructors.
Graduates of the Course are qualified to:
- analyze the educational process to enhance its effectiveness;
- identify challenges in language learning and find optimal solutions;
- determine promising directions for improving the organization of language training;
- plan and organize the educational process, taking into account learners’ needs and proficiency levels;
- apply modern methodologies and technologies in foreign language teaching, considering international experience and current educational trends;
- plan learning tasks rationally and efficiently, with regard to time and available resources;
- develop and enhance professional communication skills and foster foreign language competence among students and cadets;
- ensure alignment of the educational process with foreign language teaching practices in higher education institutions of NATO member countries.
The Professional Development Course on the Organization and Methodology of Foreign Language Teaching is typically conducted once per academic year.
Each module of the course includes in-person training at the Foreign Languages Education and Research Center of the National Defence University of Ukraine (NDUU), lasting up to one week per module. Between modules, instructors provide individual online consultations to course participants.
Course duration: up to 5 weeks throughout the year, mixed learning format

Participant requirements: a minimum of 5 years of foreign language teaching experience
