The Research Department of Development and Implementation of Strategic Communications is a subdivision of the Strategic Communications Institute which conducts scientific research on topical issues related to the development and implementation of strategic communications in the areas of information security management, introduction of social communication and public diplomacy, internal communications, public relations, legal support of the security and defense sector, improvement of the military education system, organization and control of scientific, scientific, technical and innovative activities in the interests of ensuring the educational process of students of the institute.

The Research Department of Development and Implementation of Strategic Communications is headed by The Chief of the Department, Ph. D., Colonel Vitalii Fedoriienko.

The scientific potential of the research department comprises 5 Candidates of Sciences and 3 Ph. D.

The Research Department of Development and Implementation of Strategic Communications was established on September 1, 2023, on the basis of the Research Department of Information Security Issues. This establishment aims at the development of research, summarization of experience, and implementation of strategic communication innovations in the field of national security and defense.

In their daily work, the staff of the department conducts scientific research on pressing issues related to the development and implementation of strategic communications in areas such as information security management, social communication and public diplomacy, internal communications, public relations, and legal support for the security and defense sector.

Researchers work daily on scientific research projects and operational tasks aimed at improving the functioning of strategic communications elements, as well as enhancing the military education system, organizing, and controlling scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative activities in the field of strategic communications.

Thanks to the efforts of the department's strong team, the university has significant achievements in scientific and scientific-technical activities. In the context of the ongoing full-scale armed aggression by Russia against our country, the institute's researchers are doing everything possible to achieve impactful scientific results for our victory.

Currently, the department's researchers have developed and successfully use models for an analytical application that monitors the information space, analyzes and forecasts the dynamics of sanctions against Russia, and an automated system for generating daily monitoring reports of the information space, including pseudo-Ukrainian Telegram channels.

At the beginning of the large-scale invasion, a system was developed to record the presence of the enemy based on reports from the local population, followed by visualization in a geographic information system using OSINT technology. Thus, the team of researchers continues to work and expand their vast potential.
