The Department of Security of Information Resources is training military specialists in the protection of information with limited access to obtain a full higher education and qualification "professional, officer of military management of the operational level" in the field of knowledge 25 "Military sciences, national security, security of the state border" with the qualification level " master's degree" for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military formations of the state in the specialty 254 "Security of the troops (forces)" specialization: "Protection of information with limited access in the troops (forces)".

Also, one of the department's priorities is the implementation of scientific and scientific-technical support for development measures (problems) of covert military management by its components (protection of state secrets, cryptographic protection of information, technical protection of information, countering technical intelligence) and direct development of methods for evaluating the effectiveness of the system of covert intelligence military management by its components, taking into account the experience of European and world practices.
