History
Command and Staff Institute of Troops (Forces) employment of the National Defense University of Ukraine was founded in accordance with the Ministries of Defense order № 28, dated January 28, 2009.The Institute was formed as a development of the National Defense Academy of Ukraine operational-tactical specialists education faculty in accordance with Minister’s of Defense and Minister’s of Education joint order № 020/04, dated April 30, 1994. Nowadays it’s one of the main National Defense University of Ukraine units which is responsible for educational and scientific performance.
The Institute provides Master’s degree and “Military management professional” qualification obtaining by operational level officers in an orders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other security and defense sector’s components. It also provides the high qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel education, such as Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Sciences.
The first set was implemented in 1994, while organizational measures were completed and 16 departments of operational-tactical level specialists education faculty were formed. Colonel KHALETSKYI Ivan Petrovich was the first head of the faculty.
In 1995 Major-General SAPSA Ostap Mykhailovych was appointed head of the faculty. Officers for the first time visit the Royal College of Defense Studies, deployed in Great Britain.
In 1997 colonel HNATENKO Vasyl Mykhailovych was becoming the head of the faculty. Officers visited North Atlantic Treaty Organization Headquarters, deployed in Brussel.
In 2000 – 12 departments were structurally subordinated to the Institute, also an educational department was established. Officers visited Belgium, Italy and the US of America.
In 2005 the operational-tactical specialists education faculty was developed into Land Forces faculty. Candidate of Military Studies, assistant professor, Major-General LYSHAVSKY Volodymyr Gavrylovych was appointed head the of the faculty.
In 2007, on the basis of the Land Forces faculty was created the operational-tactical faculty, 9 departments were included.
In November 2011, Candidate of Military Studies, professor, Major-General LISNEVSKY Valery Viktorovych is becoming the head of the institute.
In 2019 Candidate of Military Studies, assistant professor, Major-General OSTAKH Yuriy Petrovych was appointed the head of the institute.
In November 2022, Candidate of Military Studies, assistant professor, Brigadier General MYKOLENKO Yuriy Mykhailovych was designated the head of the institute.
