The Department of Special Operations Forces

The Department of Special Operations Forces is a structural subdivision of the Command and Staff Institute of the Employment of Troops (Forces) of the National Defense University of Ukraine.

The Department is designed to carry out educational, scientific, technical and innovative activities in the interests of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The main tasks of the Department:

• implementation of educational activities that ensure the training of military specialists of the appropriate degree of higher education in the selected specialties and specializations;
• training of military specialists of the second (Master's) level of higher education for the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
• participation in the training of military specialists of strategic and operational levels of training in specified specialties and specializations for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations of the state; participation in retraining and advanced training;
• retraining and advanced training of military personnel, employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, officials of other components of the security and defense sector of Ukraine, and civil servants;
• implementation of scientific, technical and innovative activities in the interests of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine by conducting scientific research and ensuring the creative activity of students, training of highly qualified scientific personnel, applying the obtained results in the educational process of the university;
• participation in the development of projects of regulatory and legal acts in the areas of educational and scientific activity of the Department;
• participation in the improvement of the material and technical resourses to ensure the educational activities of the Department;
• participation in personality development through education of the staff of the Department in the spirit of respect for the Constitution of Ukraine, adopting leadership and moral values, social activity, civic position and responsibility by the participants of the educational process.

Composition of the Department:

• Head of the Department;
• scientific and pedagogical staff;
• scientific and research laboratory focused on topics of training, development and employment of Special Operations Forces;
• training laboratory.

The department provides training by the following specialization:
Specialty 253 ”Military Command (by branches of armed forces)”.
Specialization: “Combat employment and command of the Special Operations Forces military units”
