Science and Defence

The history of the scientific-theoretical and scientific-practical journal Science and Defence began in 1994, when the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine established a collection of scientific materials entitled Science and Defence, which was re-registered as the journal Science and Defence in 1996.

On the basis of a succession agreement concluded with the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine in August 2017, the rights and obligations of the journal's founder were transferred to the National Defence University of Ukraine (certificate of state registration of a print media outlet, series KV No. 22942 -12842PR dated 15 September 2017).

The journal's objectives:

to highlight current issues and disseminate scientific knowledge in the field of military sciences, national security, and state border security;

to contribute to the professional development of military personnel and civilian employees of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as other components of Ukraine's security and defence sector;

ensuring the right to publish the results of scientific research for higher education students (master's, PhD, doctor of science) studying at universities and other higher education institutions in Ukraine and abroad.

In its activities, the editorial board of the journal adheres to the principles of freedom of the press, protection of copyright and prevention of academic plagiarism, ensuring the high quality of scientific articles through peer review.

The journal is published four times a year, and the print version is distributed by subscription (subscription index – 74303).
