03.09.2026

The National Defence University of Ukraine welcomed a delegation from the Kingdom of Norway headed by Tur Frederik Müller, Director General of the HMM Helsehjelp charitable foundation.

The visit aimed to deepen international cooperation and exchange practical experience in the use of innovative VR/XR technologies in military education, psychological training, and the rehabilitation of military personnel and veterans.

During a meeting with the University leadership, the parties discussed the results of their cooperation and prospects for implementing joint educational, research, and practical projects.

The guests were introduced to the NDUU’s training facilities and the practical use of Meta Quest 3 virtual reality headsets. Ten such sets were donated to the University by the HMM Helsehjelp foundation at the beginning of the previous academic year.

VR technologies are used to train students in psychological support for military personnel. They provide a safe environment for practising responses to stressful situations, strengthening psychological readiness for combat missions, and supporting the recovery of military personnel.

The delegation was also introduced to LUMINIFY, a Ukrainian application developed by the Aspichi team. Its technologies are designed to support psychological recovery following traumatic events, reduce anxiety, and facilitate the first steps towards seeking professional help.

The programme also included a visit to the War Museum of the National Defence University of Ukraine, whose exhibits document the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to Russian aggression.

The University leadership expressed its sincere gratitude to the Norwegian partners and the HMM Helsehjelp charitable foundation for their assistance, continued support for Ukraine, and contribution to the development of military education and psychological support for military personnel.

International partnerships enable the University to introduce modern technologies, enhance the training of military professionals, and develop effective approaches to the psychological recovery of Ukrainian service members.
