- At the National Defence University of Ukraine, a model of multi-level training on integrity and anti-corruption in the defense sector was discussed
Recently, the Scientific Center for Integrity Education and Corruption Prevention in the Security and Defense Sector of the National Defence University of Ukraine (VITES), together with the Department for Prevention and Detection of Corruption of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, held a scientific-practical seminar on “A Model of a Multi-Level Training System for Military Personnel and Civilian Staff on Integrity Education and Corruption Prevention within the Components of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, Taking into Account Current Needs and Security Challenges.”
The seminar was attended by more than 100 representatives from 13 higher military educational institutions of the Defense Forces. Also participating were representatives of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the Central Directorate of Military Education and Science of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as international partners — the NATO Building Integrity Programme, the Centre for Integrity in the Defence Sector (CIDS) at the Norwegian Ministry of Defence, and the team of the UK Special Defence Adviser.
During the seminar, VITES presented the results of scientific research on improving the multi-level training system on integrity education and corruption prevention, as well as on the implementation of NACP Methodological Guidelines for transforming various areas of higher military educational institutions’ functioning on the principles of integrity and zero tolerance for corruption.
As a result of active discussions, participants developed proposals to transform the anti-corruption system of higher military educational institutions into a consistent and interconnected policy of building integrity in line with NATO standards.
