Greetings from the Commandant of the National Defence University of Ukraine on the Independence Day of Ukraine

Dear Fellow Ukrainians! Dear warriors!

I sincerely congratulate you on the Independence Day of Ukraine!

For centuries, the Ukrainian people fought for the right to live in their own state, speak their native language, preserve their national culture and determine their own future. Today, a fierce struggle for this right continues once again.

Ukraine’s independence is defended on the battlefield every day, upheld through responsible decisions and strengthened by honest work. Behind it stand the courage of our warriors, the resilience of millions of Ukrainians and the unbreakable will of a people who have refused to submit.

We bow our heads in memory of the Heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine. Their sacrifice compels us to remain strong, united and worthy of the country for which they fought.

We must endure, prevail and pass on to future generations a free, sovereign and strong Ukraine — a state capable of protecting its citizens, restoring justice and confidently shaping its own future.

Ukraine has been, is and will remain independent. We will defend Ukraine!
