The Center of Qualification Enhancement and Professional Development is an independent structural unit of the National Defense University of Ukraine, which provides continuous training and career advancement opportunities for military personnel, employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and civil servants in positions of "A," "B," "C" categories, ensuring they acquire the knowledge, skills, and practical expertise necessary to perform their duties throughout their service.

The center includes:

• Leadership
• Educational department
• Senior Non-commissioned Officer Leadership Course
• Training laboratory
• Various courses (funded by the troops)

The main tasks of the center include:

• Increasing the qualification of servicemen and employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the defense forces through qualification enhancement courses for the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service at various levels of military education, as well as through qualification enhancement courses for scientific, pedagogical, and research staff.
• Enhancing the qualification of servicemen, employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, civil servants of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine apparatus, as well as other defense forces, through qualification enhancement courses on defense management. This also includes training for leaders and specialists of central and local executive authorities, local self-government bodies, who are responsible for defense and mobilization work and hold positions of civil servants in categories "A," "B," "V" in qualification enhancement courses on matters of national security and defense, etc.
• Preparing personnel of the senior non-commissioned officer level through training and qualification enhancement courses (preparatory, retraining) for contract servicemen of the lower ranks and non-commissioned officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
• Preparation of foreign specialists through master's degree educational programs at the strategic and operational levels of military education, as well as their qualification enhancement through professional military education courses and courses of qualification enhancement in defined directions.

Following the results of the Review-Competition to determine the best unit of the university in 2022 and 2023 in the nomination "Best Center among University Centers," the Center of Qualification Enhancement and Professional Development was recognized as the best center among university centers.

The main guiding documents regarding the organization of the center's activities include:

1. Order of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine dated January 4, 2023, No. 7/nm "On the organization and conduct of courses of professional military education and courses of qualification enhancement in higher military educational institutions, military educational units of higher education institutions, and institutions of specialized postgraduate military education for 2023-2024."
2. 2. Catalog of qualification enhancement courses (preparation, retraining) in higher military educational institutions, military educational units of higher education institutions, and institutions of specialized postgraduate military education, approved by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine on February 17, 2024, No. 1023/ud.
3. 3. Annual calculations of the number of participants in qualification enhancement courses (preparation, retraining) in higher military educational institutions, military educational units of higher education institutions, and institutions of specialized postgraduate military education.
