The Defense Management Education and Research Center was established and operates in accordance with:

• Decision of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine of 20.09.2017 №1439/з/2;
• Annual National Program under the auspices of the NATO-Ukraine Commission for 2018;
• The Statute of the project “Development of Education and Training of Military Specialistsˮ (approved by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine on December 19, 2018);
• Order of the Head of the National Defense University of Ukraine dated 31.07.2019 No. H-221.

MISSION OF THE CENTER:

1. Education of a leader manager capable of self-improvement, critical thinking, forecasting, evaluation and management of changes in the interests of the development of his/her organization and the state;
2. Training of personnel of the security and defense sector, scientific research on the implementation of progressive approaches in defense management in order to increase the level of defense capability of Ukraine.

VISION OF THE CENTER:

The Center is to gain national and international recognition (NATO member states) in the field of training highly qualified specialists in defense management.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

• heads and personnel of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, military command and control bodies of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the defense forces;
• students, adjuncts, doctoral students of the security and defense sector;
• representatives of security sector governance bodies and other authorities;
• educational and research institutions, as well as non-governmental organizations whose activities are related to management development;
• foreign partners.

The main tasks of the center are:

• training and advanced training of military personnel and employees of the state security and defense sector on defense management issues;
• scientific and methodological support of the process of training specialists in defense management in higher military education institutions;
• conducting scientific research on defense management;
• cooperation with international educational and research (educational) institutions that train personnel and conduct research on defense management;
• joint work with military authorities on the development of the defense management system.

To continuously improve and generalize experience, the Center's management team, researchers and academics work closely together and regularly participate in events organized by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, civilian higher education institutions, NGOs and foreign partners.

The Center includes:
