The department of military management (Command Control department) is a structural subdivision of the institute of state military management of the National Defense University of Ukraine, which carries out educational, educational, methodical work, scientific and scientific and technical activities on the issues of training students at the strategic and operational levels in the basics of the theory of management of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the theory and practice of group management troops (forces) during the preparation and conduct of operations (combat, hostilities) in armed conflicts and local wars, taking into account the experience of the participation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in repelling the armed aggression of the Russian Federation and anti-terrorist operations and operations of the United Forces.
The department consists of:
- management of the department;
- scientific and pedagogical workers;
- research laboratory (problems of improving the work of military administration bodies);
- educational laboratory.
The department was created on the basis of the Department of Troop Management and the Staff Service of the Air Defense Academy of the Ground Forces.
On April 27, 1994, Colonel Roman Fakadei was appointed as the head of the department. This day is April 27 and is considered the Day of the Department of Military Management.
One of the first specialists who worked on the creation of the department, and then was appointed to the position of professor of the department - honored scientist of the RSFSR and Ukraine, academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Informatics, doctor of military sciences, professor, retired colonel Borys Khabarov. A significant contribution to the development of the theory and practice of the system of management of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was made by Oleksandr Zubov, professor of the department of military management, candidate of military sciences.
The main tasks of the department are:
- participation in the training of military specialists with the degree of higher education "master" in the specialty "National security (in separate areas of support and types of activities)" in the specialization "Strategic leadership in the security and defense sector";
- participation in the training of military specialists of the operational level of military education in specified specialties and specializations for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations of the state, participation in retraining and advanced training;
- conducting research on the problems of improving the work of the military administration bodies of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- ensuring the training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel of the highest category for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations;
- creation (improvement) of regulatory and educational material and technical base to ensure educational activities;
- development and examination of draft legislative and other regulatory legal acts;
- ensuring cultural and spiritual development of the individual, education of personnel in the spirit of patriotism and respect for the Constitution of Ukraine.
The department prepares:
- officers of the strategic level of training in academic disciplines:
- Theory of public administration;
- Strategic management of defense forces;
- officers of operational level by academic disciplines:
- Operational planning;
- listeners of the retraining and advanced training center;
- operative planning of headquarters;
- adjuncts of the National Defense University of Ukraine by academic disciplines:
- Theoretical foundations of operations research in the field of military management;
- Conceptual problems of the development of military management in modern military art.
The department is located on the territory of the military town at 28, prospect Povitrianykh Syl, Kyiv, on the second floor of the first educational building.
