Trains highly qualified military specialists of the second (master's) level in the field of knowledge 25 "Military sciences, national security, security of the state border", from the specialty 254 "Provision of troops (forces)", with the specialization "Organization and conduct of cyber warfare" (according to the military accounting specialty 160,000), to obtain the professional qualification "Professional in the field of providing troops (forces), operational level officer".

Thanks to the work of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department, educational events are held with university students of all specialties, including the training of military personnel in the direction of organizing and conducting cyber warfare, and scientific and scientific and technical support for cyber warfare events. Work is constantly being carried out to study the problems of the development of the cyber defense system as the main means of deterring and repelling military aggression in cyberspace.

During the department's existence, the staff of the department prepared several volumes of the Collection of Informational and Analytical Materials of Combat Experience in Cybersecurity Issues Obtained During the Russian-Ukrainian War.
