The Department of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Protection and Civil Security is a structural subdivision of the Institute of Logistics and Support of Troops (Forces), which conducts educational, methodological, scientific and innovative activities in the interests of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the relevant areas of scientific research and training of specialists in the specialties (specialization).
The main tasks of the Department of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Protection and Civil Security are:
- training of highly qualified military specialists of the second (Master Degree) level of higher education for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine in the field of knowledge "Military Sciences, National Security, Security of the State Border", in the specialty "Support of Troops (Forces)" and specialization "Organization of Radiation, Chemical, Biological Protection of Troops (Forces)", educational qualification "Master of Support of Troops (Forces)", professional qualification - "Professional in the Field of Support of Troops (Forces), Operational Level Officer";
- training of scientific and academic personnel of the highest category (Doctor of Science, Doctor of Philosophy) of the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine in the field of knowledge "Military Sciences, National Security, Security of the State Border" in the specialty "Support of Troops (Forces)" and in the specialty "Civil Security";
- training of students of retraining and advanced training courses on the combat employment of military support units in operations (combat operations).
The Department of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Protection and Civil Security as a structural subdivision of the Institute of Logistics and Support of Troops (Forces) of the National Defence University of Ukraine was formed in accordance with the Directive of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine dated January 23 2023.
Academic staff of the department has experience of participating in the Anti-Terrorist Operations, the Joint Forces Operation and the Russian-Ukrainian war.
