The Research Center for Issues of Physical Education, Special Physical Training, and Sports (hereinafter – the Center) is a structural unit of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Physical Culture and Health Technologies (hereinafter – the Institute) of the National Defense University of Ukraine (hereinafter – the University).

The Center carries out scientific and scientific-technical activities aimed at acquiring new knowledge and exploring ways to apply it in the field of physical culture and sports within the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the national security and defense sector.

The Center includes:

• the Research Department for the Development of Physical Education, Special Physical Training, and Sports;
• the Research Laboratory for Scientific Support in the Development of Standards and Norms for Physical Training and Sports.

The main tasks of the Сenter include:

• to investigate the issues of physical education, special physical training, and sports within the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the security and defense sector of Ukraine, as well as physical and sports rehabilitation of military personnel;
• to substantiate the standards and norms for physical training;
• to disseminate scientific knowledge in the field of physical culture and sports;
• to provide scientific support for the implementation of research outcomes into the practical activities of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the educational process of the Institute.
